COVID-19

For the Summer Term, we are following the guidance:

Children:

  • children and young people who are unwell and have a high temperature should stay at home and avoid contact with other people. They can go back to school or childcare when they no longer have a high temperature, and they are well enough to attend.  Children with mild symptoms such as a runny nose, and headache who are otherwise well can continue to attend school.
  • children with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days.
  • We recommend parents and carers consider getting their child vaccinated when it is offered.  Vaccinations are voluntary and will take place outside of school, in vaccination centres, pharmacies, GP surgeries and walk-in centres.  Parents of 5 to 11 year olds will receive a letter from the NHS with further information on the vaccine.  You can book a vaccination appointment on-line:  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/ or you can find a walk-in centre:  https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/find-a-walk-in-coronavirus-covid-19-vaccination-site/.  You do not need an appointment to go to a walk-in centre.

Adults:

  • adults with the symptoms of a respiratory infection, and who have a high temperature or feel unwell, should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people until they feel well enough to resume normal activities and they no longer have a high temperature;
  • adults with a positive COVID-19 test result should try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days, which is when they are most infectious;
  • regular asymptomatic testing is no longer recommended. Therefore, tests will no longer be freely available to most people;

 From the Summer Term, there will be fewer protective measures in place than before.  However, we will:

  • Continue to practice and promote good hand and respiratory hygiene;
  • Continue to keep classrooms etc well ventilated;

 Please find below details of the action we are taking to reduce the risk of COVID-19.
